The Boss Witch Movement

Why I believe in the deeply necessary & transformative power of women in Coven. In women returning to all we have been taught to forget, the era of wealth, power & decisions in the hands of women.

In the beginning….

For over thirty years, I did what I was told.

Push more. Try harder. Control your emotions. Mask your differences. Mould yourself, in every way possible, to fit a system built for male bodies — and along the way continue to bury all the parts of yourself that make you “inconvenient” and “unmanageable”.

This Substack is reader-supported. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

In my corporate job, I was “too emotional.” I “cared too much.” What a ridiculous statement, by the way. My power was “being a bitch” and my tears were a weakness that must be chastised and hidden. I had natural rhythms and cycles that the system had no use for. Depth of emotional intelligence. Sacred rage. Bodily wisdom and intuition and creative life force — all of it subconsciously denied, buried, forgotten. All of it labelled as weakness.

All of it, actually, my power.

And then one day: a very loud and very clear “fuck this” entered the room.

A middle middle finger up, return back to myself. A reclamation of the knowledge, wisdom and power that had been there inside me all along — waiting, patiently, for me to remember it. For me to reclaim it.

Thus, so was the beginning of Boss Witch — not that I knew this at the time.

A journey of embodiment, intuition, dominance, cyclical living, of the reclamation of pleasure and sensuality. Of learning EVERYTHING we were taught to forget. Of claiming back power and presence as a woman.

I never wanted to mould myself to fit anyone else’s agenda again.

And now I want ALL women to have access this part of themselves. To regain power — not for control, but for change. For true, deep-rooted change that starts from within each and every one of us.

This is the Boss Witch Movement

What Do I Mean by ‘Witch’?

Not a costume. Not a caricature. Not the thing they burned women for being.

When I say witch, I mean the empowered woman who desires to live a life of pleasure, wealth and sensuality — grounded in presence, community, truth and love. She is not an escape from the world. She is the most alive person in it.

She dresses how she wants — not for the algorithm, not for the male gaze and definitely NOT for her age!

She finds style inspiration in art, in nature, in the way light sparkles like glitter on the oceans surface. Not from what the media tells her she should. Not from an external narrative about what she “should” be. From her internal truth, her embodied choice, fully hers - not theirs to be taken, moulded or controlled. No more.

She knows that magic doesn’t only live in ancient rituals and sacred groves. It lives in the slang of your hometown, in the sayings your nan used, in the dry humour of a Northern woman who sees straight through the bullshit. The kind that doesn’t take itself too seriously but knows the full weight of its power — and that’s exactly why it works.

Words are spells. Intention is science. What we were taught to dismiss as ‘woo woo’ is ancient knowledge that was systematically dismantled because it puts power in the “wrong” hands. Our hands.

We’ve Been Taught to Forget How to Be Women

Because we were taught it’s not okay to be girls.

We were taught to be good girls. Quiet girls. Grateful girls. Small girls who apologise for taking up space, who shrink their hunger, who perform wellness rather than live it. And then, one day, we were expected to be women — powerful, present, whole — with no map for how to get there.

A woman’s worth was never something we were shown how to measure from the inside.

The nervous system work I bring to Boss Witch is not about becoming calm and palatable. It is not another version of the good girl, smoothed out and made safe for public consumption. It is about becoming grounded and strong. About accessing your true voice. About building the foundation from which your activism, your business, your relationships, your wealth can actually grow.

So that collectively — we build regenerative wealth. We build community and strength, in our bodies and in our numbers. We return to cyclical living. To a world suited to everyone and all bodies — not just those of privilege, not just those of men.

The death of the good girl. The hyper-independent woman. Playing it like a man. It ends here.

Money, Magic & What I Was Taught to Believe

Years ago, I did a practice — a simple exercise to surface the beliefs living underneath my conscious thoughts. What came out shocked me.

“Rich people are evil.” “Desiring money is bad.” “Wealth is dangerous”

These were not my words. They were inherited ones. Absorbed from a culture that taught women to be grateful for scraps, to distrust abundance, to make themselves small in their financial lives just as they made themselves small everywhere else.

Spending power in the hands of women changes the world. Regenerative wealth — wealth that flows back into community, into all bodies, into the next generation — is built by women who have done this work. Who have looked their money blocks in the eye and said: not anymore.

The Night I Heard a Very Loud No

Like far too many women, at 16 I had the colossally under-researched contraceptive pill chucked down my adolescent throat. And so I chugged those little “miracle” pills down daily — without so much as a second thought — until I was 35.

Two months after my 35th birthday, I reached for my nightly pill, but this time , I heard a distinct, loud voice, say “NO!”

At this point I had zero connection to my body, mind or spirit. This very loud, very clear “NO!” scared the absolute crap out of me. I swallowed the pill. But something had changed forever. The very next day I began researching coming off the pill — and two weeks later, I stopped. For good.

This began my journey of unravelling the truth about females bodies, our cycles, our hormones and all the potential can be unlocked if only we are given the knowledge and armed with the tools to advocate for ourselves.

Having the knowledge and understanding of my natural cycle was such a validating and empowering discovery. Our bodies are not researched enough. Our stories not told enough. Our inner biological landscape is complex and incredible — and having the knowledge to advocate for your own health can unlock the superpowers of our cyclical nature, whether you are a womb owner or not, or whether you have a period or not, we all have a cyclical nature available to us to learn and work with in harmony and understanding.

Female health is not an obstacle to overcome. It is a powerful force to harness.

All of these elements make up the BOSS WITCH - her essence is reclamation, remembering, returning. A balance of feminine and masculine energies - of yin and yang, of light and shadow, Important, essential, deeply intentional AND fun, wild and a little chaotic. She is not healed, refined, or “finished” she is ever evolving, ever creating, ever transforming. Remaining present, remaining true, she is messy, wild, everything your younger self would have dreamed of being and everything your older self is championing you to become!
